Privacy Policy

The Paws Genie is built around a simple idea: you should be able to connect with your pet in a way that feels warm, private, and personal. We take that responsibility seriously.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We'll keep it plain — no legal maze.

When you use The Paws Genie, we collect the following:

• Your Google account email and display name (via Google OAuth sign-in)
• Your pet's name, type, breed, age, and personality traits — entered during onboarding
• Messages you exchange in chat sessions
• Memories extracted from those conversations (short facts our AI saves to personalise future chats)
• Calendar events and notes you create
• Files and photos you upload to the app
• Profile details you optionally add (photo, birthday, favourites, important dates)

We do not collect payment information directly. We do not run ads. We do not track you across other websites.

Your data is used exclusively to make your experience better:

• To personalise your pet's AI personality and responses
• To remember past conversations so your pet feels consistent and familiar
• To store your calendar, files, and profile so they're available when you return
• To send AI responses via the Anthropic Claude API (your messages are processed by Anthropic's API — see their privacy policy at anthropic.com)

We never sell your data to third parties. We never use your conversations for advertising. Your chats are yours.

Your account data, pet profile, messages, memories, and calendar events are stored securely in Supabase — a Postgres-based cloud database with row-level security. This means your data is protected at the database level: only you can access it.

Some data (like your pet's photo and feature preferences) may also be cached locally in your browser's storage for performance.

Files and photos you upload are stored in your browser's local storage in the current version. We plan to migrate these to secure cloud storage in a future update.

We use the following third-party services to run The Paws Genie:

• Google OAuth — for sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic Claude API — to generate your pet's responses. Messages are sent to Anthropic's API. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — for database and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel — for hosting. Subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. We will process all deletion requests within 30 days.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a readable format

The Paws Genie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of The Paws Genie after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
