These Terms of Service govern your use of The Paws Genie — the AI pet companion app available at thepawsgenie.com (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

We've written these to be straightforward. If something is unclear, email us.

The Paws Genie is an AI-powered companion app that lets you have conversations as if they were coming from your pet. The responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are meant to be emotionally supportive and entertaining — they are not real communications from your animal.

The Service does not provide veterinary advice. Nothing in our app should be taken as a substitute for professional veterinary care. If your pet is unwell, please see a vet.

To use The Paws Genie, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old
• Sign in with a valid Google account
• Provide accurate information about your pet during onboarding
• Keep your account credentials secure

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

You agree not to use The Paws Genie to:

• Generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the underlying AI models or prompts
• Share your account with others or use the service on behalf of third parties commercially
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in bulk
• Circumvent any security or access controls

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

All pet responses are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI. While we carefully design the prompts and personality system, we cannot guarantee that every response will be perfect, accurate, or appropriate for every situation.

You understand that:

• AI responses are not real communications from your pet
• The AI may occasionally produce unexpected or imperfect responses
• We are not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated content

You own the content you create — your pet's profile, the messages you send, photos you upload, and calendar events you add. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

We will never sell your content or use it to train AI models without your explicit consent.

The Paws Genie currently offers a free tier. Paid subscription plans may be introduced in the future. When paid plans are launched, we will provide clear notice of pricing, what is included, and how billing works before any charges apply.

We aim to keep The Paws Genie running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We are not liable for any losses arising from downtime.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Paws Genie and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or £100, whichever is greater).

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify users via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in good faith — we're a small team and we'd always prefer to talk it through first.
